Using ThaliSnap

How do I get the best photo results?

Take the photo from above with the whole plate in view, in good light. Then check each dish on the “Check your plate” screen. If the app isn’t sure, it shows other likely dishes under Or is it:.

Can I log a meal without a photo?

Yes. Tap Type it and write what you ate, for example “2 roti, dal and bhindi”. Or tap Search to pick dishes from the list.

How accurate are the calories?

Calories come from our Indian food table, based on the Indian Food Composition Tables (IFCT 2017) and the Indian Nutrient Databank. They are shown as a range because recipes, oil and portions vary. Adjust portions and the oil level (light, homemade, restaurant, extra ghee) for a better estimate.

A dish is missing or wrong

On the “Check your plate” screen, tap AI got it wrong? Tell us. We use this to add dishes and improve recognition.

Your account

Do I need to sign up?

No. ThaliSnap creates a guest account automatically, and your meals are backed up in the background. To keep them if you change or lose your phone, go to 👤 Account and choose Continue with Apple or Save my meals with email.

How do I use ThaliSnap on a new phone?

Install ThaliSnap, tap Already use ThaliSnap? Sign in, and use the same Apple ID or email. Your goal and meals appear after a few seconds.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app, go to 👤 Account → Delete my account and all my data and confirm. This permanently deletes your account, meals, profile and feedback from our servers on all devices. If you can’t open the app, email support@thalisnap.com from the email on your account and we’ll delete it within 30 days.

Can I stop the AI from seeing my photos?

Yes. Go to 👤 Account → AI meal reading → Turn off. You can still log meals by searching for dishes.
